Garden Tours

Daily/April 15 – October 31/FREE with paid admission/11am and 1pm

Explore the beautiful Arboretum grounds and gardens with a trained docent and learn all about the Colorado Plateau. Discuss the native plants of Northern Arizona, our historic buildings on site and our latest research and work.

Tours last one hour–bring water, a camera, and comfortable walking shoes.

Bird Walks

Saturday Mornings/May, June, and July/FREE with paid admission

Join members of the local Audubon Society on a morning bird walk through the gardens between May and July. More than 130 species of birds have been sighted!

Tours begin at 7:30am–bring water, a camera and comfortable walking shoes.

Wildflower Walks

Saturday Mornings/June, July, and August/FREE with paid admission

On June 25th, July 23rd, and August 27th join Gwendolyn Waring, ecologist, artist and writer, for a summer Saturday morning walk and explore all the colorful varieties of native Northern Arizona wildflowers.

Tours begin at 9:30am, bring water, a camera and comfortable walking shoes.

Butterfly House

Daily/Seasonal/FREE with paid admission

We are very excited to announce our brand new Southwest Butterfly House, opening May 15th, 2016! Hundreds of colorful butterflies will be on display in our newly constructed greenhouse which is open daily. Take a look inside and learn about the life cycle of a butterfly, the importance of pollinators, and the beautiful butterflies of northern Arizona.

Botanical Blacksmiths

Daily/May-September/FREE with paid admission

The Arboretum at Flagstaff celebrates art in the outdoors with the Botanical Blacksmiths, a collection of 20 pieces of outdoor ironwork created by members of the Arizona Artists Blacksmith Association and installed throughout the Arboretum grounds.

All ironwork items will be available for sale, including smaller pieces in the gift shop.

Arboretum Anniversary Lecture Series

Twice a month/May-October/FREE with paid admission

In celebration of our 35th anniversary, the Arboretum welcomes numerous experts in their fields to share ecological, historical, cultural, and biological knowledge with our guests. Each presentation involves a lecture, discussion, and related walking tour. See schedule for details.

Group Tours

By appointment only/Discounted admission for large groups

The discounted admission fee for groups (more than 6 adults) is $6 per person. Private tours can be arranged for an additional fee of $25. Commercial tour operators and drivers are admitted free.

School Tours

The Arboretum is a wonderful learning environment for students of all ages. We offer theme-specific and self-guided tours for students in preschool through high school. Please see our Field Trips page for more information.

People with limited mobility may arrange to ride in a golf cart during scheduled tours. Please call (928) 774-1442 or notify the Visitor Center staff in person that a golf cart is desired a minimum of 30 minutes before the scheduled tour start time. Only staff and volunteers are permitted to drive golf carts through the gardens.
